ABOUT US
since 2015
Food is my passion - my art is creating a delicious and surprising menu designed to indulge your every sense.
“I love to experiment and play with food and really got hooked while in the military.” Michele Lopez is a 23 yr US military service disabled veteran who retired as a Master Sergeant. She holds a MEd. in Counseling, M.S. Contracts & Acquisitions, B.S. Information Technology, A.S. Culinary and Certified Vegan Chef.
“We had a monthly luncheon and I loved creating a different menu, themed based, to present new and exciting flavors - it was a great feeling to share in everyone's experience”. After retirement, Michele enrolled in culinary school, graduated with honors and while still enrolled, managed to start her own catering business to include both savory, sweet foods and desserts. Michele has studied abroad and is trained in many styles & techniques including Italian, Asian, French, and multi-cultural flavors as well as artisanal breads, pastries and chocolate. Sometime after graduation Michele became an instructor at the same culinary school and met her soon-to-be business partners!
Chef Preston Ream teamed with Michele in 2017 to combine skills, experience and techniques making Savoury Eats a unique dining experience for anyone who orders our food. Preston was born and raised in Kansas City, MO before moving to Tucson, AZ in 2001. His illustrious kitchen career started at the age of 14, and has taken him through some of the top restaurants in Tucson. With years of informal apprenticeship under his belt, he formalized his education in 2008 when he enrolled in the culinary arts program at The Art Institute of Tucson, graduating with a B.A. Culinary Arts in 2014. Once and always a good ol’boy from Missouri (pronounced Miz-zur-uh), BBQ is more than a passion for Preston, it’s a way of life. In 2012, he founded Copper State Smoked Salts & Seasonings, a retail line of artisanal smoked salts and seasonings, including a BBQ-specific product line named “Arizona Red’s Secret Stash.”
Preston, and his wife Kim, started Arizona Red’s BBQ, featuring locally-sourced market-fresh BBQ, during the Spring of 2015. Formally joining with Savoury Eats provides customers a true “world of all flavors” experience.
